New Products - Lifeblood of the Company
Today, the company's product line has expanded to include over 1,000 items produced by talented and dedicated employees. The lifeblood of the company is its products, and Enkeboll has always led the way in innovation, quality and meticulous attention to detail. We know that our customers are always searching for fresh, new designs to incorporate into their projects.
In the spring of 2010, The Tribeca Collection was unveiled. It was designed to appeal to the burgeoning yet underserved modern segment of the woodcarvings market, by adding a fresh new aesthetic to our already established family of classic and old-world collections. Inspired by the clean lines of modern-classic architecture, the Tribeca collection offers a well-edited selection of moldings, corbels, turned legs, and textured panels. The fine detail work on each piece creates its own unique signature while retaining the streamlined characteristics of the collection.
Also in the spring of 2010, the company joined an elite group of licensees of the Hearst Castle Collection-- becoming the exclusive Architectural Woodcarvings Licensee. The woodcarvings Collection, which Enkeboll designers adapted from the artisan details of architect Julia Morgan’s original renderings, is reminiscent of the great golden age of California yet refined for a more current functionality. For the first time, almost thirty individual items including moldings, rosettes, corbels and panels are available from Enkeboll.
In the fall of 2010, we launched Enkeboll Metallics, a revolutionary new finishing process to our customizing capabilities. Nine lustrous metallic finishes are available on all Enkeboll Elements. Customers select from our catalog of over 1,000 magnificently carved items and specify the metallic finish of choice, and using a highly durable, cold sprayable metalizing process each piece is beautifully finished. Enkeboll Metallics is but one of the many innovations that have helped make Enkeboll the Gold Standard in architectural woodcarvings since 1956.
Manufactured like no other
Enkeboll takes great pride in its products. From material selection, to procurement, to production, we go to great lengths to produce product of superior quality. The most challenging and painstaking part of the process is the raw lumber selection. We strive for 100% clarity and color match eliminating mineral streaks, knots, and color variations between pieces of wood originating from different parts of the tree. Each piece is individually inspected prior to shipping and the craftsman puts his personal signature on the back of every piece as if the piece was his own.
As a company, we have dedicated ourselves to environmental stewardship and sustainability practices. Since 2008, we have been a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council: a non-profit organization who promotes sustainable practices among manufacturers, designers and consumers alike. In addition, many of Enkeboll’s wood suppliers are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or the Sustainability Forestry Initiative (SFI).
For almost one decade, we have been taking strides to reduce our carbon footprint and do business in the most environmentally friendly manner possible. Long before many companies were even talking about going green and becoming environmentally conscious, Enkeboll was doing something about it. In 2001, we installed a special system in our factory that reduces electricity consumption by adjusting automatically depending on demand. Enkeboll was the 3rd in the nation to install this system. The energy savings as a result have been substantial.
Other environmentally friendly actions include; using“green glue” in our factory, replacing older equipment with newer more energy-efficient models, and recycling wood scrap for use as mulch or animal bedding. We also have implemented a company-wide policy to recycle all paper, bottles, cans and toner cartridges. Enkeboll is now, and will continue to be committed, to finding ways to reduce its carbon footprint.
Moving ahead into the future, Enkeboll looks forward to a continued tradition of quality and excellence, providing our customers with new as well as classic styles to complement their projects. We will work hard to maintain our reputation as the Gold Standard in Architectural Woodcarvings and continue to dedicate ourselves to environmental stewardship.
